In this post, I'll walk you through the bike & gear that I started my adventure with. I got into this modality of travel with absolutely 0% prior experience, very limited knowledge of bikes and, on reflection too much haste to get the show on the road as quickly as possible.

After detailing the gear itself, I'll also talk about some of the lessons I've learnt along the way & what advice I'd give to budding bicycle tourers so that your trip is as easy, affordable & fun.
